1 unique marketer = You. 1 million unique invoices = 1 million unique IBANs
Do you hate dinosaur banks? Good - we do, too. Keep reading. Here’s our reason: the tech to make payments instant, cheap and actually built for people already exists. Banks have it. They just don't use it for the ordinary person. As a neobank for gig-economy and payment methods, our mission is to make SEPA payments cheap, fast and programmatic for humans and robots. And everything executed with an effortless UX we already get from tapping a card, but brought to account-to-account payments. We are not just another fintech company. We’re building something hard and uncommon. The kind of product people assume only big companies with big floors and bigger committees get to build. We see the fintech industry as a giant box of Lego: the pieces are all there and we are here to build them into something people actually love using. That takes the right people, not the most people. We're small, fast and allergic to corporate fintech theater. If that sounds terrifying, this isn't for you. If it sounds like Tuesday, keep reading.
The role:
We need a marketing hustler, not a marketing department. Someone who can go from "here's the plan" to "it's already running" - no waiting on agencies, no six-week creative briefs, no "let's circle back." We've learned the hard way that everyone says they know marketing. Job titles are full of "growth" "brand" and "demand gen." But, very few of those people can start with segmentation targeting, positioning and also actually think of a marketing strategy, plan a campaign, build the assets, run the event and read the numbers afterward, themselves. We need the rare one who can.
What you’ll actually do:
- Own marketing execution end to end: strategy, campaigns, content, events, partnerships - you plan it and you build it, not just "manage" it.
- Turn business strategy and product benefits into landing pages, marketing campaigns and commercial decks that actually speak to our customers.
- Show up at industry events and make us impossible to ignore. We don't want a branded tote bag booth. We want the thing people take photos of. (Yes, we're seriously considering a humanoid robot at one of our next conferences. If you have a better stunt, pitch it.)
- Get obsessively fluent in what SmartIBAN actually does: the product, the API, the use cases, the edge cases. You can't sell what you don't understand and fintech buyers can smell a marketer who's never opened the docs.
- Map the market cold: who's already serving virtual IBANs and instant payments today, who we're actually going after and how each product is positioned against both. Existing players, our target segments, our angle: you should be able to explain all three without notes.
- Build our presence in the segments that matter: PSPs, marketplaces, gig/creator platforms, ERP and invoicing tools - each needs a different pitch, and you're the one writing it.
Who we’re looking for:
- Real grounding in marketing fundamentals - segmentation, targeting, positioning, the craft itself, backed up by formal marketing education.
- Startup experience. You've worked somewhere with no playbook, no big budget and no safety net and you didn't fall apart.
- Hands-on by nature. You're happiest building the thing yourself, not writing the brief for someone else to build it.
- A hustler's instinct for creative attention-grabbing: you'd rather build something people talk about than book another line-item ad spend.
- The patience to actually learn a complex B2B fintech product instead of skimming the landing page.
- Sharp understanding of audience segmentation: existing market landscape, our target segments and product positioning and you can hold all three in your head at once.
Why join us:
- We're not offering easy. We're offering worth it. If "no one's really solved this before" is the sentence that makes you lean in instead of back away, you'll feel at home here fast.
- Think and build like a founder, without the risk of doing it solo.
- Be the marketing force at the leadership table.
- Equity upside in a high-conviction team.
- Remote-first culture with flexibility and autonomy.
- Be challenged by a mission with teeth: replace Visa and Mastercard with SEPA without sacrificing the user experience.
